Hand-in-Hand Crafting Circle Update
Consensus among group members is to continue with the gatherings twice a month over the winter. It is likely there will be snow days and cancellations will be posted on the website and/or Facebook page.
For projects going forward, we will start an "Adopt a Senior" project. The goal is to reach out to local nursing homes to see if they are interested in us making items for clients that do not have a family support system in place.
Update (December 1st, 2019)
We will not be attending any crafting events on December 10th.

Crafting Group Details
Numerous clients in my shop have asked if I would be organizing a craft group. With the support of the Shallow Lake United Church I have been able to obtain a complimentary meeting room once or twice a month for interested ladies to meet at.
Crafting is about sharing knowledge. Many of us have been taught by our mothers or grandmothers. Some of us have not picked up knitting needles or a crochet hook for years but would like to start creating again. I would like to see a friendly environment that will encourage not only those that have forgotten, but those that have never done crafting of any kind to work with experienced crafters. This is an opportunity for experienced crafters to share their knowledge with like minded crafters and those new to the skill. These are all arts that are fading and we need to pass on our knowledge. I also see in the future a time when we would having guest crafters invited to meetings to share their specific craft to introduce us to something that we may never have done or may have forgotten.
Ultimately the concept of the group would be to create hand made items that could be donated to local charities that would benefit by these donations. Charity suggestions would be made by the members of the group as a high number of my clients already donate hand made crafts to a charity of their choice, this would enable more items to be donated.
The Shallow Lake United Church is located at 75 Cruickshank St., Shallow Lake
The preliminary meeting will be Sept 11th, 7 to 9 pm.
This will be to organize the group, create a name and plan the particulars of the group.
Please RSVP to Terry Ann Goode so we can have sufficient treats, coffee and tea available.
